Interested and affected parties are invited to comment on the draft Environmental Impact Report for the proposed development of Dube TradePort. A series of public meetings will be held to present the draft EIA report. The date, time and venue are detailed below.

All comments for the draft Environmental Impact Report must be submitted by 25 May 2007. Comment must be provided in writing to Jenny Mitchell by e-mail, fax or post at the contact details given below.


Mt Edgecombe Country Club

Situated 3 km from Umhlanga Rocks, 15 km from Durban and 35 km from Durban International airport in Kwa Zulu Natal.
If coming on the N2 (northbound) from Durban:

  1. Take the Umhlanga Rocks turn off.
  2. At the Traffic light turn left, away from the sea.
  3. Take the first left to the Mount Edgecombe golf course.
  4. At the T-junction turn left in front of the artificial waterfall.
  5. Turn right into golf course drive.

If coming on the M4 (northbound) from Durban:
  1. Take the Phoenix/Umhlanga Rocks turn off.
  2. Head up the hill, away from the sea, towards the Umhlanga Ridge.
  3. Pass over the ridge, and continue over the N2 highway.
  4. Take the first left to the Mount Edgecombe golf course.
  5. At the t-junction turn left in front of the artificial waterfall. Turn left into Golf Course drive.

Umdloti Conference Centre

1 South Beach Road, Mdloti
From the N2 or the M4:

  1. Take the Umdloti/Verulam exit.
  2. Follow the M27 to Mdloti.
  3. When you reach the traffic circle, the Umdloti Holiday Resort and Conference Centre will be on the right and is signposted on their wall.
  4. Proceed round the circle to the entrance.

Victoria Avenue
From South:

  1. Immediately after the Tongaat toll plaza, from the N2 take the left turn into Watson Highway.
  2. At the 1st set of robots turn right into Old Cresent.
  3. This road becomes Victoria Avenue.
  4. The library is on the right, next to the Town Hall. Entrance is through the Town Hall.
