World Economic Forum Africa contingent visit Dube TradePort

The World Economic Forum Africa is an international forum dedicated to improving living standards the world over, by promoting public-private cooperation in the spirit of global citizenship, where issues that are central to socioeconomic and political injustice are explored.  From subjects such as enterprise development and local manufacturing that drives our industrialisation efforts, through to international partnerships that drive innovation and competitiveness.

“We have in the past few years witnessed considerable progress with respect to the emergence of new business investments in various sectors of our provincial economy. Bolstered by our two Special Economic Zones in the Dube TradePort and the Richards Bay Industrial Zone, we have been able to attract millions of rand worth of new investments to the province and we will doubtless use the forthcoming World Economic Forum on Africa to woo yet more potential investors into the province,” says KZN MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mr Zikalala.  

World Economic Forum Africa is the platform that draws together heads of state, civil society, and business to discuss the development goals of the continent and South Africa in particular as the country continues its drive to achieve inclusive growth.  

The hosting of the forum in Durban gives South Africa a unique opportunity to demonstrate to the international community its commitment to remain a competitive business and investment destination, which is a beacon for intra-African trade and investment.  

Today, Dube TradePort was included on the World Economic Forum Africa ministerial media tour that visited the Special Economic Zone.
