MAHINDRA OPENS NEW R 95 MILLION ASSEMBLY PLANT IN DURBAN
KwaZulu-Natal’s investment drive receives a shot in the arm, as Mahindra launches a new semi-knockdown assembly plant within Dube TradePort Special Economic Zone. Super jumbo Antonov An-124 cargo aircraft makes its largest ever delivery to Dube TradePort
On the 30th of March 2017 Dube Cargo Terminal witnessed its second landing of an Antonov An-124 cargo aircraft, as part of the delivery of 80 tonnes of highly specialised spools, which forms part of the main furnace at the local oil refinery. The components ranged from 4 to 16 meters in length, 1 to 3 meters in width and 2 to 4 meters in height.

Air Seychelles starts flights to Durban
Today, the Province of KwaZulu-Natal welcomed the inaugural flight of Air Seychelles to Durban’s King Shaka International Airport. Air Seychelles will be flying a twice-weekly non-stop service on Thursdays and Saturdays, connecting Durban and the Seychelles’ capital Mahé, using an Airbus A320 Aircraft with a 16-seat business class and 120-seat economy configuration, which will achieve an average flight time of 5 hours, 20 minutes.

Air Seychelles Announces Durban Route
Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, held a media conference at King Shaka International Airport on 01 December 2016 to announce its new direct route to Durban, set to commence on 30 March 2017. The new Durban route will be operated twice-per-week on an Airbus A320 aircraft and will be the airline’s second route in South Africa.

South Africa lands Africa’s First Fully Integrated BioPharmaceutical Plant at Dube TradePort in KZN
Cipla BioTec and Dube TradePort will be building Africa’s first fully integrated biopharmaceutical plant to make biopharmaceuticals within Dube TradePort Special Economic Zone in KwaZulu-Natal. The parties previously on the 8th July 2016 announced the overall investment level for manufacturing and development costs and it is targeted to be approximately R 1,3 billion.
